Even though I get my TV through Cable.tv/Compare-providers/ and I get things like Comedy Central and all that, I find that there aren’t any real programs on television that feature practical jokes. It’s a shame, really, because some of the funniest pranksters in the world are from this country.
No, if you want good practical jokes, you gotta look elsewhere and one of the best places is Japan.
So here’s the setup.
A modest salaryman shows up for a job interview. He is shocked not only by the state of the place but the very sketchy behavior of the receptionist. The receptionist locks the door after the interviewee shows up and checks out the window (to see if he was followed).
The salaryman waits patiently only to suddenly hear a sniper rifle go off. The receptionist is seemingly killed in front of him along with the man he was going to interview with.
Needless to say, the salaryman dropped to the floor for cover as a Japanese government official came crashing through the window to rescue him. Despite the ridiculousness of the prank, all of the actors remained committed to their roles and it was by far one of the best, if not most dangerous, practical jokes I’ve ever seen.
It’s probably floating around on YouTube somewhere. You should really look it up.
